Question:
Previously, you asked me to contact my trash
hauler, but you missed 1 question that could be answered by the township
since it involves its ordinance: Is there any time where we’re not permitted
to put the trash and recycling containers by the curb (like prior to 6:00
p.m. the day before the collection day) and a time where the empty, already
collected containers must be removed from the curb line (like 9:00 p.m. on
the collection day)? The reason why that law is in place is because if it\'s
violated, it can be unattractive in the neighborhood, can create
obstructions for pedestrians and can attract illegal dumping. I also have
new questions: Why are we supposed to close the lid on our garbage carts
before we move them? Why do you only accept clear, green and brown glass?
Here's a question that MIGHT be in your knowledge, since I found helpful
hints for recycling on channel 22:Do you know the latest recyclables that
have been added to the accepted list? Also, you may want to add/update some
slides on channel 22. I suggest: You adding electronic recycling
(Televisions, Video Game Consoles, Networking Equipment, Computers, VCRs,
DVD Players, etc.) You adding paperboard to the helpful hints (cake, cereal,
cracker, pasta, cookie boxes, etc.) You updating the household hazardous
waste slide and give us examples, such as:- Motor Oil- Washer, Transmission,
Brake, Power Steering and Starter fluid- Empty Ink & Toner Cartridges- Used
Oil Filters- Rechargeable & Lead Acid Batteries- Antifreeze- Fertilizer-
Floor Care Products- Oven, Drain, Window & Toilet Cleaners- Mercury
Products- Oil Based Paint & Thinner- Fluorescent Light Bulbs- Full or Partly
Full Aerosol Cans- Driveway Sealer- Pool Chemicals. You should also tell us
that expired medicine should be returned to the pharmacy and that you don\'t
accept the following:- Explosives- Ammunition- Propane Tanks- Latex Based
Paint- Radioactive Materials- Smoke Detectors- Medical Waste.
Answer:
Hi. Containers can only be put out the day before. If the
container is out there more than a day after you can let us know. The
recycling procedures are determined by the state.
Question:
My
questions: 1- When is 99 Restaurant scheduled to open? 2- What is happening
with Luig's / TJ Smith's restaurant location? The building started being
renovated, then that project appears to have been abandoned, now I see
workers entering again. What's the plan? 3-Is there any consideration to
widening the section of Stuckert Road in front of Tamanend school? During
morning commute those dropping off students block Stuckert Road in both
directions waiting for their opportunity to discharge passengers. Could an
extra wide lane (or generous shoulder) be added from the Deer Path Drive
area to Herblew rd? Also, this same area marked 'No parking ANY time' signs
are clearly visable. People constantly park under these signs for every
field event from weekend activities to school events. Stuckert Road is
already very tight having cars parked along one side and through the
intersection makes visability dangerous. Tuesday night 5/6/08 was a good
example of what Tamanend parkers do. I must have counted 30 vehicles parked
in the No Parking Any Time zone. Some were parallel parked on Stuckert Road,
others sort-of parallel parked-the tires were technically off the road but
the car was infringing on Stuckert Road and jutting out into traffic. Is
this a No Parking Any Time area or is that guideline not enforced for school
events due to lack of parking space? Also, for these school events police
traffic direction is warranted. The area was a disaster this week.
Answer:
Hi. The following is the answers
to your questions:
1. They are planning an opening
in June sometime.
2. The Luigi's site is currently
under construction.
3. There are currently no plans
to add extra lanes on Stuckert Road. There does not appear to be
enough room for that type of widening. No Parking signs are enforced
by the Police Department. The Township can be called if this is
occurring. The School can have someone direct traffic if needed.
Question:
I had heard
that there would be a yard waste collection date in Warrington Township in
May 2008. I live in Warrington Oaks. Can you please tell me when this
collection will occur in my neighborhood. Thanks.
Answer:
Hi. There
are dumpsters for leaves and branches under 5 inches located on Pickertown
Road near the treatment plant and on Valley Road across from the park in
Warminster. You are welcome to drop off those materials whenever you like.
You also have collections provided by your trash hauler. You can call them
for information.
Question:
I live in
the Whitehorne Phase I development off Stump Road. Would it be possible to
street sweep the roads in our development from all the cinders put down by
the salt trucks during the past winter? I get frustrated every
spring because they are an eyesore and are tracked over the driveways,
garages, and inside homes. it used to be you could count on a good
street sweeping in April or so, but the past two years I have had to
constantly phone to get someone to come out. Can you get someone out
to sweep? Your help is much appreciated.
Answer:
We have not
really started the street sweeping program yet. Currently we are
getting ready for the 2008 Road Improvement Projects. I will have it done as
soon as we start sweeping again. Typically all roads are swept twice a
year. All the roads do get done eventually.
Question:
Hello. I live in Palomino Farms. I noticed that
there is a new office building coming to the intersection at Shetland Drive
and 611. There is also an application for a liquor license posted. Can you
tell me what restaurant will be joining the office complex? Thanks!
Answer:
Hello. The restaurant is being constructed as
part of the Heritage project at Easton and Shetland is Bertucci’s . They
received approval from the Warrington Board of Supervisors to transfer a
liquor license into the township. The license still needs approval from the
Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
If I may be of further assistance, please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Question:
Good Morning. I was wondering what the Township's
policy is on liter clean up. It seems our roadways are getting worse.
It's actually becoming embarrassing and I feel for the taxes we pay (both
Township and County) there should be a proper protocol. Not just one
day out of the year and sometimes that doesn't even take place. Other
communities do not have this issue.
Answer:
In general, it has been the property owners
responsibilities. We are in the process of getting businesses to
sponsor roads to help with the clean-up. This is being done through
the Township's Environmental Advisory Council. It there is a specific
road you are talking about you can let us know and we will look into it.
Question:
I don't understand why trash pickup is just not
included in with the taxes like how other local townships are? Is there
anyway this can be addressed?
Answer:
We are looking into possibly going out to bid for garbage haulers.
The only issue is you have a choice now if you have an issue with one of the
haulers. If it were to get done, it would probably be an additional
cost to residents. We will look at what residents currently pay and if
it would be cheaper if we bid it out.
Question:
Our trash hauler (Allied Waste) does not pick up cardboard recycling
(cereal boxes, pizza boxes etc.) Do you know of any recycling drop off areas
we may take these to? I feel irresponsible throwing these items in the
trash.
Answer:
Hi. As far as I knew all the haulers provide recycling. I would call them
and try and find out why they don’t provide that service. It appears
that the UPS store in Montgomery and Indian Creek Industries in Hatfield
might have it. You can try calling them.
Question:
A neighbor uses his backyard for a toilet for his 4 LARGE dogs. He very
rarely comes out to pick up the waste. With the warm weather approaching I
am concerned about the strong odor. What can be done about this?
Answer:
Hi. Warrington Township’s animal ordinance prohibits allowing animal
defecation on any property other than the animal owner’s. The ordinance does
not appear to apply to the situation that you described. While it is usually
best for neighbors to work together on this type of issue, the Bucks County
Board of Health may also be able to help.
Question:
Four quick questions: 1. Is there any time where were not permitted to
put the trash and recycling containers by the curb (like prior to 6:00 p.m.
the day before the collection day) and a time where the empty, already
collected containers must be removed from the curbline (like 9:00 p.m. on
the collection day)? 2. Can you put anything in your curbside bin other than
metal, glass, aluminum, cardboard, plastic or paper? I hear a recycling
center in Portland, Oregon allows you to put used motor oil in your bin with
a 1-gallon container (like a milk jug). 3. Do you know what neon paper and
low grade paper is? Not all recycling centers accept neon paper. Also, why
are brown or tan envelopes not accepted at some recycling centers? 4. Do you
know the latest recyclables that have been added to the accepted list?
Answer:
Hi. All these issues appear to be things that can be handled by your
trash hauler. Each one has their own recycling rules. If you
have a problem let me know who your hauler is and we can find out.
Question:
Hello, I live in the Maple Knoll development and was wondering if there
was a listing of allowable trees that can be planted in the front yard.
Thanks.
Answer:
Hello. There are no prescribed trees for the main part of the front
yard, but we do have a list of ten street trees. The street trees are
planted by the developer/builder, usually in the planting strip between the
curb and the sidewalk. The street trees are as follows:
1. Sugar Maple
2. Green Ash
3. Ginkgo (male)
4. Shade master Locust
5. Sweet Gum
6. Red Oak
7. Willow Oak
8. Linden
9. Japanese Zelkova
10. Chanticleer Pear (in the ordinance but no longer recommended)
If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact us. Thanks.
Question:
I have 2 dryers and 1 washer to be removed from the
building I supervise. Does the township have a day when they pickup big
items?
Answer:
Hi. Bulk trash is handled through your trash hauler. You can
call them and schedule a pick-up.
Question:
Hi, I am moving to Warrington and was told that
trash removal is not done by the township. Each person sets up who they
would like to handle their trash removal. Can you please let me know if this
is true and what companies are used and how to arrange for trash removal?
Thank you
Answer:
Hi. Each homeowner contacts a trash hauler that services our area on
their own. Currently the ones I know that service this area are
Ches-Mont, Allied Waste and Waste Management. There may be others.
You can check with the neighbors or look in the phone book.
Question:
I have a few dead compact fluorescent bulbs. How do I dispose of them?
Answer:
Hi. I have looked into it and it appears the IKEA recycles them.
You can contact them. You also can try your trash hauler.

Question:
Several weeks ago I submitted a question regarding
Malcolm's Service station located below Freedom's Way on Easton Rd. The
place is a mess there is now graffiti on the walls along with the plate
glass windows being broken. What is going to be done about this eyesore and
hazardous conditions on this site? This is my second time in asking this
question. I do not see my first submission of my complaint.
Answer:
Hi. I’m sorry I thought I had responded to the Malcolm’s issue.
They are currently being posted for property maintenance and having an
unsafe conditions. They are given time to remedy the situation.
If they choose to do nothing we will have to take them to court to compel
them to remedy it.
Question:
I noticed that there are signs posted that County
Line Road will be closed March 26th. The only information I found about it
was on the main information page, and does not give enough details to
residents. It says that they will try to use flag men until 7:00pm. After
that, the road will be closed. Does this mean that residents that live in
Bradford Greene will not be able to get to and from their homes? What is the
road being closed for anyhow?
Answer:
Hi. The road will be open to local traffic. If you can avoid that
section I would try to. The closure is at night. They are
installing water and sewer lines in County Line Road.
Question:
Hi I would like to know how I can get a stop sign
put in at Grady & Evergreen? I asked the township years ago and they said
they didn't want to got through the engineering process. Well so far we have
had 3 drivers speed onto our property. One was caught and was under the
influence. We've had years of speeding through the neighborhood from Kansas.
I have 3 small children myself and It is very dangerous for my children to
walk down the street from their bus stop. Spring is now here and it's going
to start all over again. I also asked for speed bumps and the township
worker told me they were illegal. Then how did Park Ave & Redstone get
them??? Who's going to be responsible when something happens to one of my
children? We have no sidewalks, and the streets are real narrow as it is.
What can we do here?? Thank You.
Answer:
Hi. I have received your request for a stop sign at Evergreen and Grady.
A couple of issues exist. The two roads are not dedicated roads to the
Township. This means the maintenance or use is given by easement and
the roads were never formally turned over the Township due to the fact they
do not meet the Township’s requirements to be a public road. Being
undedicated the signs would be unenforceable. Also certain conditions
have to be met to have a sign installed. Only one condition is met
with your statement about the accidents. There would have to be a
larger amount of vehicles traveling the two streets.
You also asked about speed bumps. They are not necessarily illegal.
In general Township’s do not like to install them since it makes it
difficult to plow and can cause a hazard. Other methods are
typically used before bumps are installed.
Question:
There is a wetlands area in Forest Glen Development, Phase II, that
contains a bridge. The problem is that there are land strips on each side of
the bridge that a pet owner is using as a dog defecation area and not
cleaning it up. Right now there are several "mounds" there. Could you please
post a sign reminding pet owners to clean up or be subject to a fine.
Answer:
Hi. In general we do not put signs up in the grass mall areas of a
subdivision. The dog waste signs are meant for park areas and open
space.
Question:
I live in Bradford Greene. I have noticed that county line road will be
closed starting today. What is the extent of road closure going to be (from
x road to x road). Also, how long is the project supposed to last? Basically
I want to know what the best direction on county line road I should be
coming from to get into the development.
Answer:
Hi. The road is supposed to be open to local traffic. It is
supposed to be “closed” for only 4 days from 9pm to 6am.
Question:
I work on Titus Avenue and I am wondering what are they building across
the street from the UHAUL company?
Answer:
The new construction on Titus Avenue is for an office building. As
of this date, there are no specific tenants identified.
Question:
Hello. I live in the Bluestone Creek Condos (not
the 55+). We have been here for almost 3 years. I am writing because of
safety concerns that the township should require the builder to fix since
our development has not been dedicated. The outside lighting in our
development is terrible. Our association, which I am a member of, says that
the builder has done what the township required them to do. There is no
lighting in the underpasses into the courtyards. Also, there are not enough
streetlights in the parking lot. There is a drainage basin in the far right
corner in the development. I live along the basin. There is no lighting that
should be near the basin. The parking area and the units that face the basin
are very poorly lit. Also, there are many areas where there should be
railings that are not. The steps that lead into the courtyards have no
railings when there are at least 7 or 8 steps. What the township's
requirements for lighting in a parking lot? Is there so many feet between
lights? Is there a minimum lighting area? What is the township's requirement
for outside railings? How many steps till a railing is needed? Thank you for
your time!!!
Answer:
Hi. The project was approved with appropriate
lighting around the parking areas as we have approved on typical projects
throughout the Township. Any additional lighting should be requested
of the developer. I spoke with our lighting consultant and he stated
that they have installed the lights that were approved on the plan. I
had the Building Inspector review the railing situation. If there are
more than 4 steps a railing must be installed. He stated that there 3
and then a landing and then another 3 or so. This eliminates the need
for the railing.
Question:
What is Warrington township earth day? Is this a
clean up day? I noticed a lot of trash on the sides of the roads
lately-mostly bottles (probably falling off recycle trucks). In particular
Bristol Rd at the intersection of Lower State Rd, and on Pickertown Rd from
Stump driving down towards 611. Thanks.
Answer:
Hi. I will let the EAC know since they are running Earth Day. It
depends on how many adult groups they get to do clean-up work.
Question:
I used County Line yesterday and noticed signs reading Road to be closed
beginning 3/26. I'd like to know for how long and will it be effective 24
hrs. a day ? Thank you. Sorry, from Park Rd. to Chestnut on Horsham's side
is where the signs were placed.
Answer:
Hi. The road will not be closed for 24 hours a day. Currently the
plan is to close the road from 7 pm to 5 am. It will be limited to
local traffic only. If you do not live within that stretch of road you
will not be able to go through. I hope this answers your questions.
Question:
I am removing a tree and would like to leave it at one of your designated
compost piles. Could you let me know what the exact location is of those
piles. The maps that I got in the fall did not specify the exact location.
thanks!
Answer:
Hi. One location is Tradesville which is on Pickertown Road in front of
the sewage treatment plant. There is a blue sign in front of the
entrance way. It is between Mill Creek and Red Coat Farm. The
other is on Valley Road. It is across from the park in Warminster.
I hope that helps. If you require anything further please let me know.
It is only for branches 5” and smaller in diameter.
Question:
Hello. There is a huge pothole on County Line Road,
just after Kansas Road, in the right lane going towards 202.
This pothole is so large in fact that it literally destroyed the rim and
tire of my car. The gentleman who runs the towing service stated that
he has picked up several others who have also hit this monstrous pothole. Is
Warrington Township responsible for fixing this pothole and if so, will
Warrington Township be fixing this anytime soon? Thanks so much for your
assistance.
Answer:
Hi. The pothole is the responsibility of the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation. I called them and let them know. They should be
fixing it today (3/12).

Question:
Hello we live in the estates at Warrington Ridge.
we have heard that Kelly Rd is going to open to 611 soon -- do you know when
this is going to happen? The residents are very concerned for children and
speeding cars -- are there plans for speed bumps on Kelly Rd? Currently cars
are driving at higher speed rates then necessary and we imagine once the
fields open this will really be a problem. also is it necessary to have two
multi-purpose fields? Why can't we have a play ground, a dog park or even a
recreation area. something that isn't such an eye sore from the road. Last,
do you know when the township is going to start planting trees to block the
public fields from the residents? Thanks.
Answer:
Hi. I believe Kelly Road is going to be opened this year. We are
waiting for the developer to complete items before it is done. There
was no intention to install speed humps, but we are concerned as well and
will revisit that is issue once the road is opened. The fields were decided
on some time ago and approved by various Boards. They are going out to
bid shortly to do the work necessary for the fields. This would
include the installation of the plantings you mentioned.
Question:
Sweetbriar Village: when will the streets be listed on the Township\'s
maps (Mapquest, Google Maps, etc.)? If not, why?
Answer:
Hi. The roads are shown on our maps. The streets are not dedicated
yet. Which means the developer has some more work to complete. I
also am pretty sure you are part of a homeowners association and the roads
are to be maintained by the association. We do not have control over
MapQuest and Google maps. Generally it takes them a great deal
of time to update their maps. It could be years before they update
their maps.
Question:
As a resident of Bluestone Creek, the
55+ development built by C&M and Ryan Homes, I would like to know the status
of the dedication of the streets to Warrington Township. I have been
told that the streets still belong to C&M. As a result, we the
residents, are responsible for the cost of snow removal, maintenance of the
streets and islands from our association fees (Bluestone Creek Homeowners
Association). As a previous owner in a new development in Warrington
Township (The Woodlands) the builder was responsible for the streets until
they were dedicated. Also, in question is the Police and Fire
Departments status for these private roads. Township taxes are
assessed and being paid by all residents. Are there any plans in the near
future to resolve this issue or is there a particular reason for delay?
Could you advise how Forest Ridge, Lamplighter Village, and Legacy oaks are
being handled? Thanks..
Answer:
The roads within your development are
private and not intended to be dedicated to the Township just like other
developments you mentioned. The water, sewer, and pump station belong
to the Township. Private roads are not an issue with emergency
services. They can still enter them. Enforcement of any signs,
speeding and parking issues within are the responsibility of the Homeowners
Association. I think some issues you are talking about have to do with the
Redstone Development.
Question:
Hello: I would like to call your attention to two
traffic lights that are not working properly. The first light is on 611 at
the entrance to Target/Lowes/Fridays. Southbound traffic must always wait
for the northbound left-turn arrow to cycle through before getting a green
light even when there is no cars waiting to make a left turn. And to make
matters worse, there is almost NEVER a car waiting to make a left turn. When
you consider the amount of cars waiting unnecessarily for an extra 20
seconds every cycle, it adds up to a lot of wasted fuel each day. The second
light is at 611 and Bristol. Westbound Bristol road traffic must wait for
the eastbound left-turn signal to cycle through even though there are
sometimes no cars waiting to make left onto north 611.Thank you for your
attention to this matter and thank you also for this website. This is a very
nice forum to learn about what is going on and to get help. It is greatly
appreciated.
Answer:
Hi. Currently PennDot is in the process of installing a closed loop
system where all the lights on 611 will be timed together. They have
not completed the installation and the lights are in a test mode. I
hope that the installation will be completed shortly. They just did an
inspection of the equipment Wednesday and have to finish installation of the
computer system.
Question:
I have a neighbor on Evergreen Avenue that has a
dog that barks non stop. I have told him that his dog barking is
bothering the neighbors and that I thought there was a rule on how a dog
barks. What can be done?
Answer:
Hi. The Police can be called if it is a nuisance
and exceeds our noise ordinance. It also would depend on the hours as well.
I hope this helps.
Question:
I recall reading about Warrington Township
compiling a list of residences that have elderly and special needs family
members and pets living with them for the benefit of emergency response
personnel. If that is the case, can you please provide the information?
Thank you.
Answer:
Thank you for your email inquiring as to the
Township's efforts to include "elderly and special needs family members and
pets" in our emergency planning. Since taking over as the Emergency
Management Coordinator in May, I've been working on updating and enhancing
our emergency plan. I can tell you from past experiences that this is
a huge undertaking and will take at least a year to establish the framework,
which was recently changed by the Federal Government, and then making sure
all of the information is correct and up-to-date.
I do plan to gather information from our residents
who require special needs and consideration for family pets in evacuation
and sheltering. I am hopeful that the information gathering will
happen through several different methods, including, but not limited to, the
Township website, newsletters, and the cable channel. Please watch
these different medias for requests for information.
Question:
Hi. I was wondering if the Township has heard about
those bugs in our houses called Stink Bugs? They are shaped like a
baseball field and have a strong odor when touched. What can be done
about them? They keep coming back. I was not sure of other's have had
those and what is anything can be done. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi. I have heard about them. You can call an
exterminator. They may be able to do something about it. I get
them in my office all of the time.
Question:
As a resident of Warrington, PA living near the
Warrington Quarry, I know Warrington Quarry at Route 611 and Bristol Pike
has a contract to do there business here in Warrington. My question is
how long and when are they moving out and do there business somewhere else?
I am just concerned about the safety for all of us living near it.
Answer:
Hi. They are a legal business within the Township.
They currently have no plans to move out or end their use there. In general,
their activities are governed by the Pennsylvania DEP. Is there a specific
safety issue you would like to discuss and I can see what can be done about
it.
Question:
I read your answer below regarding traffic at 611
and Street Road. Unfortunately it completely ignores the problem area,
Street Road. Eastbound approaching 611 now backs up to the Woodlands in the
morning. This also creates a bigger backup on Kansas Road,. I
was present at the meeting when the Township approved Valley Square and we
were told that these issues would be addressed. We were told when the
car wash was approved that they were going to build a road that went from
Kansas Road around the car wash and would even be with the entrance to the
shopping center at Tudor Time. That never happened either. It's now
been more than 2 years since these issues were raised and even though we all
knew the problem was coming NOTHING has been done. Phase I is now
beyond the "planning" stage. Are there any plans for the problem side
of 611?
Answer:
Hi. There is another phase coming in for Valley
Square. Your comments can be brought up at that time. Some of the
improvements are not complete. I'm not familiar with the road opposite
Tudor Time but I will look into it and get back to you.
Question:
What can be done about the several eyesores now
lining Easton Road? The former Malcolm's gas station, the former Luigi's
restaurant, the empty lot which had all of it's mature trees removed at Park
and Easton, and the ridiculously painted bar across from Genuardi's.
Answer:
Hi. Malcolm's gas station gas been talking about
doing something with the site but has not come in yet. Luigi's I
believe is still under construction if that is the one by Kelly Road.
The empty lot on Park will be constructing a building shortly. The
painted bar, I do not think there is anything we can do. There is no
way to force someone to change the look of their building.
Question:
The land between the Fox Hollow development and
Deer Valley development (off of Bristol Road) does not appear to be
maintained. We have noted a number of very tall trees which appear to
be rotted through and are concerned about the danger they pose to the
adjoining developments. Is the township responsible for those trees?
Answer:
Hi. The land appears to be part of the Deer Valley
Development. It is not Township property. Additionally, it
should be noted that some of the lots in Fox Hollow have a significant
amount of trees. Depending on where the tree is it may be the
homeowners responsibility.
Question:
I was wondering if you were going to put up any
kind of notice about the Supervisors wanting "more compensation" then that
little ad in the paper! It seems to me that it should be put on this website
for all to see!
Answer:
Thank you for your email and suggestion. You
may be interested to know that the Second Class Township Code of
Pennsylvania (Warrington is classified as a Second Class Township)
establishes the compensation rates for Supervisors, based on population.
The increase in compensation from $3,250 per year (population 10,000-14,999)
to $4,125 (population 15,000 to 24,999) per year complies with the
compensation rates in that code. In addition, "Any change in salary,
compensation or emoluments of the elected official becomes effective at the
beginning of the next term of the Supervisor." In the case of the
Warrington Supervisors, only one Supervisor will receive the increased
compensation in 2008, the other four remain at the previous rate.
Question:
When will Channel 22 be up and running on Verizon
Fios?
Answer:
Verizon reports the government channel will be
online by late February. It will most likely have a different channel
assignment since Verizon allows ALL local government channels to be viewed
by residents, not their municipality only.
Question:
The paved path between Coachlight Circle and Sage
Lane sometimes gets very icy in the cold. I noticed someone put down
salt on Sunday. The real culprit appears to be a 6 or 8 inch diameter
white pipe that lets water out onto the path. This is probably what
caused the mulch path to be destroyed. The water volume from the pipe
is quite high after it rains. Can the pipe be re-routed or extended
down the hill? I'd hate to see someone get hurt before the Township
gets a chance to spread salt.
Answer:
Hi. I went out and looked at the situation. I
walked the path between Coachlight and Sage. It appears to be okay.
I did not see the mulch path you are referencing. It would not be easy
to have someone relocate their pipe but I could look into it if you give
more detail on where it is.
Question:
I would like to know if the trash hauler contract
with the township is public record and if so how can we obtain a copy.
We are having a problem with Ches-Mont Disposal. During the sign up
process we were told it would be two days a week and when we put the trash
out for the Monday pickup they did not take it all. I do know for a fact
that other houses in the same development get two day pick up from the same
hauler at the same exact cost of $97.50 per quarter. When Ches-Mont
was asked they stated that do not offer two day per week pick up and that we
only signed up for one day. Are trash companies required to pick up
trash twice per week?
Answer:
Hi. The trash hauler contract is not with the
Township. It is with each individual homeowner. There are three
haulers that operate in the area and you are free to pick from any of them.
As far as the frequency pick-up, that depends on what arrangements you make
with the hauler. I believe they all provide two day a week pick up. I
will call them for you and find out.
I spoke with the hauler. They stated they are
getting rid of 2 day a week pick-up. Old customers were grandfathered.
Eventually everyone will be on one day a week.
Question:
Is there a place we can go to dispose of our
Christmas tree?
Answer:
You can drop the tree off at Twin Oaks park.
It is on Bradley Road between Folly and Lower State.
Question:
The stop signs placed at the cul-de-sacs in
Warrington Village are ridiculous. Stop signs need to be added to
Freedoms Way to protect the innocent and slow the traffic. Continental
Drive could also use 1-2 stop signs, not the cul-de-sacs where local traffic
is only used by those living on the north side of Warrington Village.
This was a waste of money and total disregard for the safety of the
residents, especially Freedoms Way.
Answer:
Hi. All three way or greater intersections
are required by Ordinance to have a stop sign so at most two ways do not
have to stop.
Question:
Good Morning, there is a situation that has been
going on for months along 2700 and 2800 West Street Road. If you're
driving West on Street Road, there is a drainage ditch that runs along the
North side of Street Road that is blocked to the point that it does not
allow any water flow down the ditch but instead the water is diverted into
Street Road. This situation causes a number of hazards. It
happens just before and just after a sharp curve the road freezes like black
ice when there is no other wet roadway especially at night. The
constant water running on Street Road causes the roadway to crack and pot
hole. I know Warrington Township is not responsible for the roadway
but who is responsible to keep the drainage ditch clear to allow for the
unobstructed flow of the water? The location of the two spots that are
in question are in front of 2759 West Street Road (a large pile of stone in
the drainage ditch next to the driveway) and between 2809 and 2823 West
Street Road where the ditch is all clogged and the water is almost always
running into Street Road. Please advise if the township is responsible
and if not who is.
Answer:
Hi. Street Road is a State Highway. You can
call PennDOT at (215) 345-6060 and explain the situation. If you have
any problem, let me know and I will call them. If a driveway pipe is
clogged, I believe it is the responsibility of the homeowner. When you call
PennDOT they will make the call.
Question:
Hi. I noticed that there are surveying stakes at
the end of Wodock Avenue going up into Redstone Woods. I would like to
know what is going on there. My home sits on the edge of the paper
street of Wodock and I know it is wetlands back there and of course the
creek that runs through it. I am curious to know what is happening and
why it has been surveyed. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi. There were some road opening permits issued in
that area. That must be what is relates to. If you have any
further questions, please contact us.
Question:
Hi. I am a resident on Oak Avenue 400 block and
noticed several stakes with pink markers on top of them, do you know why
they showed up and do you know of maybe they are planning to add underground
stormwater runoff drains finally?
Answer:
Hi. Drainage is taking place in that area probably
next year and some has been completed all ready. The flags should be
marked and have information on them. If you have any further questions,
please contact us.
Question:
I currently reside in Warrington Hunt and am
curious to find out what trash haulers are registered with the township?
Do we have a choice of whoever we want to use and if so do you have any
information of different trash haulers available to service our area?
Answer:
Hi. Currently there are three trash haulers. They
are Allied Waste, Waste Management, and Ches Mont. Those are the only ones I
know of that currently pick up in Warrington Township.
Question:
Bristol Rd and Stuckert. Years ago we had a sign
near Amelia's Flowers and Gifts, "Do Not Block Intersection" traffic coming
east cannot turn left or traffic coming out of Bristol cannot get onto
Bristol Road because traffic backs up on 611 and drivers are often
thoughtless and block the intersection and Hatboro Bank. Signs, and do not
stop here, lines or stoplight is in need.
Answer:
Hi. I'm going to have a "Do Not Block Intersection"
sign put up. I have experienced the same problem at that intersection.
Question:
I have a growing concern about the
congestion along Rt. 611. One problem is the lack of efficiency of the
traffic lights. For example, the light at Freedoms Way changes even
when there are no cars waiting to enter 611. The same is true with the
northbound left turn lane. Southbound traffic has to wait for the left
turn light to cycle even when there are no cars making the turn. There
are other situations along 611 where lights do not seem to work correctly.
How often are the lights inspected for proper operation? How do we report
problems like this to PennDOT?
Answer:
Hi. The lights at Freedoms Way are not
fully operational. They leave them in a certain mode and then adjust
them. All the lights along 611 are in the process of being retimed by
PennDOT. I do not know the date they will be finished.
Question:
I want to finish my basement. I
have printed out the residential basement finishing/remodeling plan
submittal and inspection requirements. Since I have never put together
a plan is it possible to get a sample plan? This will enable me to do
it properly the first time. Also, there is mention of a plan for
sprinkler modification. How do I know if I need my sprinklers moved
and is there a sample plan I can use? Thank you.
Answer:
There are many types of acceptable
formats for submitting plans. Many of our residents hand draw their
plans using scale or graph paper, some are submitted as a computer generated
format and some residents seek the help of a design professional or have a
building contractor submit for them. All of these formats are
acceptable, it will depend on your level of construction knowledge.
The Code Department does not have samples to follow. The Library or
Home Center may be another area to look for drawing samples.
Speak to friends and neighbors for contacts of contractors that have done
satisfactory work for them.
As for the Fire Sprinkler alterations,
this will depend on several factors. What type of ceiling do you plan
to install? What height are your present sprinkler heads mounted?
The design of your floor plan may also effect the need for additional or
relocation of existing sprinkler heads. Then there is the
determination of recalled heads by the manufacturer. The best advice I
could give you is to call a Residential Fire Sprinkler Installer that is
registered to do work in the Township and ask for a survey of your system
after you have a plan. We do have a list of contractors that are
certified to do work.
I hope this has answered some of your
questions. The Code Department is available by phone at (215) 997-7501, 8:30
AM to 4:30 PM to answer any questions you may have.
Question:
I am a resident of
Palomino Drive who has voiced his opinion at a few of the township's
meetings regarding the development at the Jomac Site. After reading
the latest Manager's Report about the proposed change to Shetland Drive. I
am really concerned. All I want is for you to look beyond the intersection
change, and look at the neighborhood as a whole. Do you have any plans
to look into placing traffic calming devices in our neighborhood?
Also, is it possible that you could get the lines painted at the
intersection of Palomino and Blackhorse? I have seen a lot of people
simply go through the stop sign. I think those lines help motorist
realize that they need to stop. Thanks for your time and I look
forward to your response.
Answer:
Hi. There are currently no plans for
traffic calming along Palomino. There are plans for a flashing light
by Barclay School and I have asked the Warrington Police Traffic Unit to
look into the high rate of speed on the road. I will have the stop bars
repainted.
Question:
I have been to the Township Building
perhaps two years ago, and have also spoken to our Condominium Association
regarding the traffic situation on Street Road and Costner Drive. With
the pending number of stores opening up in the VERY near future, we are
going to have serious accidents if a light is not put up at Costner and
Street Roads. If not a light, please think about "No Turn on Red"
coming out of the street behind Target. Serious consideration should
be given to this request. If you at least would not allow traffic to
turn right on the red light- it would give individuals trying to get out of
Costner Drive just a few seconds to get out! I have seen at least five
near misses in the last few months. YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER IS MUCH
APPRECIATED.
Answer:
Hi. I have gone out a couple of times
and looked at the situation there. I believe there is not enough
traffic on Costner to warrant the installation of a traffic light.
There is substantial room between the entrance to Target and Costner to
allow turning movements from Costner. It may be necessary at times to
pull into the middle lane when making lefts. Not allowing right turns
on red can create problems on Paul Valley Road. Additionally, there
are a number of lights that are being retimed and redone that may help this
situation.
Question:
There is a large colony of feral cats
living in Palomino Farms behind Blackhorse Drive. There are droppings
everywhere in the back yards in the neighborhood, found by neighborhood
children and pets. Despite numerous complaints, one neighbor continues
to put out cat food for the strays, attracting more and more cats.
This is becoming a serious health threat. Is there a dedicated
Township animal control officer, county animal control officer, or animal
control department shared among the neighboring townships? If not,
does the Township have a recommendation for animal removal agencies?
Answer:
Hi. There are three options. Once is
to call the ASPCA. The other is to capture them with traps you can
rent and have them sprayed and neutered. Another option would be to
have a local animal group come and get them. If you give me your name
and number I can have the animal control officer contact you.
Question:
Is Warrington Township planning on
installing a left turn signal option for commuters making a left from 611
North to Oakfield Lane before opposing traffic receives green light?
This would be the intersection of the Valley Square Plaza, which once the
new section is completed the traffic will be increased. Currently
during rush hour, it takes at least 3 to 5 signal changes to finally be able
to make a left onto Oakfield. Please advise.
Answer:
Hi. There are currently a number of
improvements taking place along 611. Those improvements which are to be
completed by the end of the year would help improve the situation along Rt.
611. You should be aware that during heavy traffic times secondary cross
streets will not get a long green light for entry and crossing major
highways. Also, I do not believe there is enough traffic making that
turning movement to generate the installation of a left turn light.
Question:
Are they waiting for a major accident to occur
before they put up some stop signs for the road that goes through the
Wegmans Shopping Center? Making a left out of Wegmans with cars going
in excess of 40 mph around that street is extremely dangerous.
Answer:
I have all ready spoke with the Township Engineer
last week about that situation. I'm hoping to have an answer this
week.
Question:
Is there rules and regulations that trash companies
have to follow such as how many times trash needs to be picked up per week?
Also, being billed for yard debris removal when none was put out. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi. Unfortunately, the haulers provide service in
any manner they would like without violating any laws. As far as I
know there are not laws that govern the number of times they pick up or
being billed for yard waste. If you do not like their service you can select
another hauler.
Question:
Good Morning, we were wondering where we can drop
off our bush clippings for recycling. We have about 20 paper refuse bags.
Thanks.
Answer:
Hi. The Township has two drop off sites. One
site will be on Valley Road and the other will be at the Tradesville
Treatment Plant. The Valley Road site will be able to be used the
first half of the moth while the Tradesville site will be able to be used
the second half of the month. Each site will have a 20 yard dumpster
for leaf and yard waste. Branches up to 5 inches in diameter can also
be dropped off in the designated area. No plastic bags or household
trash can be left there. No stones or branches can be placed in paper bags.
Tradesville is off of Pickertown Road by Millcreek on the bend. The Valley
Road site is close to Street Road across from the park in Warminster.
Question:
Good afternoon- I live in the Woodland's
Development, off of Street Road. The islands which lead into my development
have been an issue for years. Most recently the second island had been
left baron for months (which was a disgrace). It was a dirt pile with weeds
growing until this morning. I was excited to see workers planting
shrubs- only to once again be disappointed. The shrubs which were
planted (which alone are nice) do not match the shrubs in the first island.
These two islands lead into our beautiful development. Residents here
take pride in their property and landscaping, and to have the township
believe that planting mismatched shrubs in our entrance way is acceptable,
is insulting to us. I would appreciate the township revisiting this
issue. The entrance way, as it currently exists, is not acceptable.
Thank you for your consideration.
Answer:
Hi. The shrubs although they look different are
both Junipers. Due to availability we could only get the height they
are at and that type of Juniper. I thought the island should not
remain baron any longer and needed to be taken care of. I feel it will
look a lot better once it is given time to grow. I thought about alternating
the plants between the two islands but I am concerned about the survival of
the plants. It should also be noted that the plants in the second
island are the ones on the approved plans. I will look at it again after it
is given some time to grow.
Question:
I just received a letter from
Ches-Mont Disposal, the company that I pay for my trash removal and
recycling. The letter stated that there will be three days added for
leaf pickup and an additional charge to my invoice for the leaf removal.
I do not put leaves out for pick up, never have and never will. I
called to find out why I had to pay for something that I do not do, and they
suggested I contact the Township. Can you help? Thanks.
Answer:
Hi. Act 101 requires that we recycle
leaves. The haulers were informed that they have to comply with this
requirement and found it necessary to add an additional charge. The
charge appears to be $9.00 once a year.
Question:
Hi. we keep being told that traffic
congestion will be alleviated when Kelly Road opens, when will that happen?
Answer:
Hi. The developer has been asked to
open Kelly Road. He has to pave it and open it to traffic. I think it would
be open after the winter.
Question:
Can you supply me or direct me to the
recycling procedures for Warrington Township, i.e., what type of paper,
cans, bottles. Thank you.
Answer:
Recycling is handled through your
trash hauler. You should contact them to find out.
Question:
I was wondering if the township has
access to recycled rain barrels and if so, who would I contact? I know
there are websites, but the price is fairly steep. Thanks for a
beautiful township.
Answer:
You can check your local garden supply
store, garden center, or hardware store. You can also try these website:
www.aridsolutuionsinc.com
www.gardeners.com
www.sprucecreekrainsaver.com
www.ne-design.net

Question:
I used to see signs for "Permanent
Intersection Improvements" coming soon at Street Road and Route 611. I don't
see those signs anymore. Are there still expected changes?
Answer:
The following is a description of what
is planned in that area:
There are improvements proposed as
part of Phase I of the Valley Square Project, consisting of the construction
of a right turn lane for west bound Street Road traffic turning right
(northbound) on Rt. 611. Also, that developer will be providing a
contribution toward "other" potential improvements to this intersection,
currently envisioned to include a dual left turn lane for southbound Rt. 611
traffic traveling eastbound on Street Road. Phase I is still in the
"planning" stage of development.
Question:
Will there be a fall cleanup weekend
like there was in the spring? I remember the first pick-up truck load
was free and the rest $5. Is this just once a year in the spring or in the
fall too?
Answer:
To the best of my knowledge we have
never done a spring clean-up. This may be something done by your trash
hauler. Please contact them.
Question:
Two quick questions:
1. What is the distance of the walking
tract around the soccer and baseball fields at Turk and Almshouse?
2. Are there any future plans to have
recycling containers at the parks within Warrington?
Answer:
Thank you for your email. I am
not sure if you are talking about King Park (which is Warrington Township's)
or Turk Park which adjoins King Park but is actually Doylestown Township.
Regarding the recycling containers- they have been ordered and will be
placed in all of the Township parks as soon as they arrive. Should be
within the next four weeks.
Question:
Hi. I couldn't find any information on
the website for recycling cardboard and batteries. Is there somewhere I can
take these myself? Also, I'd like to recycle packaging materials such
as styrofoam peanuts and inflated plastic cushioning items sent via mail.
Is there a place I could take these items? Thanks.
Answer:
Recycling would be handled through
your trash hauler. You should call the hauler to find out.
Usually household hazardous waste is handled through the County. I
believe there are no more drop-off days until May. The styrofoam is
usually not recycled but your hauler might do that.
Question:
Is it legal for children (age 11) to
ride motorized vehicles (i.e. dirt bikes or pocket bikes) in a home
development cul-de-sac if none of the neighbors mind?
Answer:
I received your question about whether
a pocket bike or dirt bike can be used in cul-de-sacs if no one minds.
Regardless of age, a dirt bike and or pocket bike cannot be used on a
roadway or sidewalk. They also may not be operated on property other
then the owner's without permission. A motorcycle has to meet or
exceed all inspection requirements found under Pennsylvania Title 67. That
means it needs items such as turn signals and horn. The motorcycle
also must be registered, inspected, and insured. The operator must
have a valid driver's license with Class M endorsement. Fines that could be
assessed could exceed $1,000.
Question:
Why doesn't Warrington Township repair
potholes in the roads? Stuckert Road and Forest Glen Drive have many
potholes. It is especially dangerous for bike riders, you cannot avoid
them. Also, does this question and comments section get updated
anymore?
Answer:
I went out and looked at the potholes
that you wrote about. I'm going to have a crew go out this week and patch
those areas. Keep in mind the holes are not very deep which means the patch
might not hold for a long time.
Question:
Is there a building requirement that a
microwave unit must be at a minimum height above a gas range? If so,
what is that measurement. I am moving into a 55+ condominium. My wife
is under 5 feet and we asked the builder to lower the microwave by about 3".
The builder, Katz says the building rules will not allow this.
Answer:
The building code does not specify a
mounting height. However, the Appliance Manufacture in most cases does
have a minimum requirements which should be followed so as to avoid any
warranties or cause of a fire safety issue regarding mounting heights and
other clearance requirements. Please consult with the manufacture
before installing this appliance.
Question:
Coming from Doylestown, the traffic
light on Lower State Road and County Line Road, is that still under
Warrington Township? If it is, is it possible to have that light to
have "No Left" turn for at least during rush hours? Reason is, it is a 5
point junction and you would have to wait at least three minutes to have
your green light. If some people are turning left, the 3 minute wait could
become 15 minutes or more of a wait. I'm sure people can go through
Folly Road to get to County Line Road.
Answer:
Hi. The light is under the control of
Warrington and Montgomery Townships. The light I believe cannot be set up to
not allow lefts during certain times.
Question:
When Verizon was installing
underground cables they temporarily took down the sign post at the corner of
Morning Walk Dr. and Parkview Circle in the Somerset Walk subdivision. They
did not replace the sign post very well and it now leaning badly and will
fall down soon. This is a school bus stop location. Can this be repaired?
Thank you for your attention.
Answer:
Hello. We will contact the Verizon liaison and ask them to repair the sign
installation as necessary. Thank you for sharing your concern.
Question:
Does Warrington Township have a place to dispose of
yard debris?
Answer:
Hi. At this point we do not have a place to dispose of yard debris. We are
actively discussing this matter with officials in nearby municipalities to
develop a site, and we hope to have something in place shortly. In the
interim, please consult with your present waste hauler. Thank you for your
inquiry.
Question:
Good Morning, the common areas in Redstone Woods are a disgrace! When will
the grass be cut, the weeds killed, etc.?
Answer:
Hello. Township Staff will check on this as soon as possible. The open space
is still the responsibility of the developer at this time, and if the
maintenance is not being done, we will contact C+M to follow-up. Thank you
for your concern.
Question:
Good Morning, the common areas in Redstone Woods are a disgrace! When will
the grass be cut, the weeds killed, etc.?
Answer:
Hello. We investigated your concern on Friday May 25 and observed that the
common areas, especially near Redstone Drive and Crimson Drive need
attention. At this time the open space is still the responsibility of the
developer and we well follow up with them. Thank you for your inquiry.
Question:
With all the open space
programs why do we not have a dog park yet?
Answer:
Hello. Warrington Township is
fortunate to have obtained as much open space as we have, especially in a
brief time. We now need to find the resources to improve these spaces into
parks and other public facilities.
The Warrington Park and
Recreation Board made a proposal before the Board of Supervisors last month,
recommending that a dog park be developed on one of three parcels. We hope
to be able to move forward shortly. If you contact us on occasion, we will
let you know of our progress. Thank you for your interest.
Question:
When will the trail between
Highland Meadows and the subdivision behind us be either mowed or just
maintained? It is a health and safety issue now and needs to be looked at
immediately. It consists of deep ruts, exposed ground plastic cover and
high weeds. It is not safe for an adult much less for children. We have at
least 30 small children in our very small development and many more in the
development behind us. We were told by the builder, that this would be a
mulched pathway and maintained by the township. Who is really responsible
for its state and when will it be taken care of?
Answer:
Hello. Please contact us at the
Township, so that we can further identify the property of your concern. We
will investigate and get the necessary maintenance done.
Question:
I have heard that we are
supposed to be getting a PF Chang restaurant in the new Wegmans plaza. Is
this true? Will there also be a bookstore and Ann Taylor?
Thanks
Answer:
Hello. PF Chang's, Borders
Books, and Ann Taylor are expected to be tenants at Valley Square (Wegmans).
Most of our communication is with the developers and owners, and so tenants
may change without us knowing it. But as we know now, the three businesses
mentioned are coming to Valley Square. Thank you for your interest.
Question:
I plan on replacing my shed.
Last year I was able to get information about permits and distance from
property lines on the township website. This year I cannot get any
information for the above. What is required to replace my shed with a 160
square foot shed and how far off property lines do I need to be?
Answer:
Hi. A shed of the size you
describe is allowed in your rear or side yard, a minimum of seven feet from
a property line. The shed can be a maximum of ten feet in height. In the R2
Zoning District, residents are limited to one shed on their property. There
may be other considerations, which we will review when you submit a zoning
permit.
Please complete the applicable sections of the application for the combined
zoning and building form available at our website under permits, entitled
"administrative application for zoning and building permit" or at
http://www.warringtontownship.org/PDF/2005-12-Building_Permit_form.pdf,
and submit to the Township. After some revisions are done, we will be
putting more information on our website, ideally with the ability to submit
applications on-line. Thank you for your inquiry.
Question:
There is a
street light that it not working properly in the Maple Knoll development.
The light is in front of 130 Buttercup Blvd. It is very dim and blinks on
and off at night.
There is
also a pot hole on Folly Road in front of Illgs Meats, around where the drain
work was being done. I've seen two potential accidents from people trying
to avoid hitting it.
Thank you.
Answer:
Hello. I
will initiate a service request to have the street light looked at by the
appropriate personnel. The pot hole on Folly may be the result of recent
water and sewer line extensions. If that is the case, then we make the
contractor aware of the need to restore the road properly. Otherwise, we
will have the Township's Public Works staff do the repair. Thank you for
your concern.
Question:
How can I
report abandoned vehicles? I live in 1700 Place apartments and I have
noticed two cars that aren't in running condition that have been sitting in
the lot for almost a year. One car was hit by another car and debris from
accident just laid in the road for months. Could I email the make, model
and plate number of these vehicles so they can be looked into and eventually
removed? I know there were abandoned vehicles towed recently after the
orange stickers were posted on the windows’, however a couple of vehicles
were missed.
Answer:
Hi. You may
send information about the abandoned vehicles to us and we will
investigate. The instance you describe is complicated by the vehicles being
on private property, though the Township may still be able to act. We assume
that you have raised this issue with the 1700 Place Management. I have
attached a file with our nuisance vehicle ordinance described in it. Thank
you for your concern.
Question:
Turning out
of the Maple Knoll development from Buttercup Blvd onto Pickertown, the
visibility of oncoming traffic is awful. Is it the township's
responsibility to trim back the overgrowth or is it the corner homeowner's?
If the latter is the case, can this be enforced? With all of the rain we've
had lately, the weeds/plants seem to be growing more and the view is much
worse. Thanks!
Answer:
Hello. The
Township is also concerned with the safety of this intersection. Recently
Central Bucks School District has come forward with their plans to improve
the intersection, as part of the construction of CB South. The berm and the
vegetation on the corner will need to be move, and the enforcement process
against the homeowner has begun. The new design will incorporate safety
barriers, so that the berm will no longer be necessary. CBSD, Warrington
Township, and the homeowner on the corner, are coordinating their efforts,
so that the improvements will result in improved safety. Thank you for your
concern.
Question:
Our
neighbor wants to cut down a huge fir tree in the back yard. It is situated
on the border in the corner where our two yards meet, the tree being in his
yard, (the roots in ours. Are there any regulations with regards to cutting
down trees, this tree is most probably 30 years old, is a beautiful tree and
stays green all year round. It is not in his way or causing any problems to
him and it would be a shame to cut such an old tree down.
Answer:
Hello. If
the removal of the tree is not part of a larger project, requiring land
development, a building permit, or the removal of an acre or more of trees,
then Warrington Township does not regulate this. The existence of the large
roots on your property raises issues, but such an instance is perhaps best
dealt with between neighbors.
Question:
What days
and hours may contractors have their crews working on new home
construction? If these restrictions are being ignored, who should be
contacted to remedy the problem?
Answer:
Hello.
Developers and the builders are limited to working between 7:00 am and
7:00pm Monday through Saturday, as part of their Developer's Agreement with
the Township. If you know of a specific instance in which this is not being
held to, please contact us at the Township Administration Building, by phone
or by my email, and we have a code enforcement officer investigate. Thank
you for your concern.
Question:
I just
purchased a home on Wyckwood off of Oakfield. When I first looked at the
home I noticed that the street was in very poor condition - very uneven,
potholes, etc. I didn't think much of it because Verizon was doing work at
the time. I noticed that they have been gone for a while but the street is
in very poor shape. Are there any plans to re-pave this road? Thank you
for your time/consideration - just concerned because the homes are lovely
but the street looks very unappealing.
Answer:
Hello.
Wyckwood Road is one of the roadways that are scheduled to be repaired and
resurfaced this fall. We look forward to this improvement. Thank you for
your inquiry, and welcome to the neighborhood.
Question:
Is there a
law ordinance for parking in Willow Knoll?
Answer:
Hello.
There is not an ordinance addressing parking in Willow Knoll, more so than
on any other public streets in the Township. Generally, these ordinances
regulate the parking of commercial and nuisance (abandoned) vehicles.
Specific concerns may be best addressed by the Police Department. Thank you
for your inquiry.
Question:
There is a
street light that it not working properly in the Maple Knoll development.
Question:
The
intersection leaving Muirfield Lane onto Limekiln Pike is very hard to
safely use because of a PECO pole and a small tree on a lawn, looking left
on Limekiln towards Chalfont. Will Muirfield Lane get a 'No Outlet' type
sign at entrance to lane?
Answer:
Hi. In
reviewing the Muirfield subdivision plans, there was no sign planned for the
entrance to the lane. Our Township Engineer will ask the developer to do add
this one to their list.
Question:
When is
Pickertown Rd., between Bristol Rd. and Argle Rd., going to paved? Also,
when is Park Avenue going to be paved? There have been on-going complaints
about the road conditions for over 18 months now, with no action from the
township. With CB South opening soon, the traffic, as well as speeding, will
just get significantly worse. The township is liable, since they have been
notified.
Answer:
Hi. While
improvements never happen as quickly as we would like, progress is being
made. There is on-going work currently to extend the water service. When
this is completed, restoration work will be done to Pickertown and Park
Roads. Overlay paving will be done on Pickertown next year. Other work, such
as improvements to the intersection at Bristol and Turk are also planned,
and are being engineered currently. This improvement along with the eventual
opening of Kelly Road should help with the CB South traffic situation.
Question:
I am a
resident in Willow Knoll and a Warrington resident since 1973. When I moved
into Willow Knoll I was amazed that trash removal was part of the taxes.
Since Warrington has stepped in this area is much better than that of 10
years ago when I used to run with Warrington Ambulance. However, I do have
one complaint that I feel should be brought to the attention of the
township, at 1232 Suzann Drive the location was recently purchased and
immediately rented out, while I do believe there are approximately 10 people
living in this location, I also feel that they are family which means there
is nothing that can be done. However, this is a residential area and they
ARE running a business out of this location. The name on the vehicles
parked here is Maria's. The operation is creating a problem in this area
that I have NOT seen in the 2 years since living at my location. I realize
that you may not be able to do anything about the business, however, seeing
that the roads in Willow Knoll are township roads I can request that the
township do something about the parking issue that has arose. I have what
would be considered 2 spots in front of my residence and with a single
vehicle for the residence find it hard to park in front of my own house. Do
we need a petition to get the township to step in? I have spoken with other
neighbors about this and we are at a loss. Other townships provide
residents that have to park on streets, resident stickers for their cars to
avoid ticketing and towing. I understand the issue and with the layout that
causes issues for parking, however I believe Willow Knoll could be starting
a downward trend if the township doesn't assist with parking issues and
maybe even with renting of townhouses in the township. Rentals are less
likely to care about the area and cause issues such as parking, high grass
and overall condition. Just this past Thursday evening, there was an
argument I overheard due to this location I specified and parking. Please
HELP. Thank you for your assistance.
Answer:
Hello. The
Township is aware of the alleged business. I have seen the vehicles myself.
Staff personnel from the Planning and Zoning Department are continuing to
investigate, and the additional information you supplied is helpful. The
business is not permitted, and we will begin to take action soon as we have
finished gathering information. The parking matter involves a separate
issue, though there may be a violation there as well.
This specific issues not
withstanding, we would like to think that conditions of the Willow Knoll are
improving, though not as quickly as we would like. The new Township
Manager, Tim Tieperman, has taken a direct role in improving our presence in
this neighborhood. We appreciate your patience as we work to make things
better. Thank you for your concern.
Question:
I am a residence in the willow
knoll section of Warrington Township. I have called to complain before and
nothing was addressed about the issues I have. My first complaint is the
parking. I know we don't have an association for this development so that
makes it up to the township to do something about assigned parking. My house
number is 1230 Suzann drive and I have two cars. When I bought my house the
closing paperwork said I had 2 parking spots, well I don't. The 3 houses to
my left have 10 cars between them. They park all 10 of their cars in front
of their house and going up the street. This is ridiculous to me. I own my
house and have to park 7 houses away when I get home from work at 2:00 in
the morning. The police have been out to my street a ton of times for
parking issues. These houses that are taking up all the parking spots are
rental units with at least 7 people living in each house and I don't even
think they are legal residents of the US. I have tried to speak to my
neighbors about this issue but, they don't speak English. I expect the
township to do something about this horrible situation. After all that is
what I pay township taxes for, Right?
My second issue is the
playground. There is no mulch there is a lot of trash, broken glass and
teenagers that fight, curse, and break things. I can not take my 2 year old
or 5 year old to that playground because I am worried that they will either
cut themselves on broken glass or get hurt by other inappropriate things at
that playground. I would also like this issue to be addressed ASAP!!
