Warrington’s 5th Annual Shop with a Cop Spreads Holiday Cheer

(WARRINGTON, Pa.) Warrington Township Police Department held its fifth annual “Shop with a Cop” event on December 7, 2022, at the Walmart Supercenter in Warrington, Pa. 22 officers were on hand to shop with 35 elementary school students who live in Warrington Township and attend Barclay, Mill Creek and Titus Elementary Schools. The officers helped the children select and purchase holiday gifts for their family members and something special for themselves. Warrington Police Department worked with the elementary schools to identify families in need and the department received a grant from Walmart and a donation from the Warrington Rotary Club to help pay for the gifts. Peregrine Associates also provided invitations and bus passes for all students. Other “Shop with a Cop” volunteers included Warrington Rotary Club members and the Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion, (the costuming organization dedicated to celebrating STAR WARS™ through the creation and use of quality costumes that portray characters from the STAR WARS™ universe). Lizzi Custom Graphics created a short video about the event which can be found here.   “I would like to thank the staff at the Walmart Supercenter of Warrington for working with us on this year’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ event,” said Chief Daniel Friel. “I also want to thank the Warrington Township Police officers who participated in the event, the Warrington Rotary Club, as well all the volunteers who helped to make this a huge success for families in need in our community.”
