Welcoming Warrington’s newest K9 duo, Officer Fox and K9 Abby!

The Warrington Township Police Department is extremely excited to introduce and welcome K9 Abby. Abby, a 16-month-old Dutch Shepard, was born in late October of 2021. She came to us from Penn Vet Working Dog Center who shared that she is named after a K9 who was deployed to the World Trade Center following the attacks on 9/11.

After a competitive and extensive selection process conducted by K9 officers from outside agencies, Officer Corey Fox was selected as Warrington’s next K9 handler. Officer Fox brings an overwhelming amount of experience to our K9 unit and department. Prior to joining the Warrington Police Department in 2019, he was a SEPTA Transit Police Officer for almost 8-years. During that time, he was a handler for 5-years to a Dutch Sheppard named K9 Kai, who is now retired and is very excited to be a big sister!

Officer Fox’s experience can be traced back to when he was in the K9 Instructor Program at Penn Vet Working Dog Center which was at the same time as Corporal Blanchard/K9 Jolie and Officer Plum/K9 Murphy were in class!

First day back to school! Today, K9 Abby and her handler, Officer Fox had their first day of Scent Detector School at Penn Vet Working Dog Center. Abby will be trained in the detection of Narcotics.

Please help us give a warm welcome to K9 Abby and join us in congratulating Officer Fox for joining the K9 Unit!
