Earth Day 2012

earth

When: Saturday, April 28th (rain date April 29th)
Where:
Mary Barness Tennis & Swim Club

Notes: Boy Scout Troop 24 will be working on April 21st and Earth Day, April 28 (10:00 am to 3:00 pm), to convert the existing detention basin on Guinea Lane and Greenridge Road to a naturalized detention basin. The Warrington Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) was able to secure a grant to bring the basin up to modern day standards known as Best Management Practices. The grant came with a matching element and the EAC was able to enlist the Boy Scouts as the sweat equity component. We should see the basin evolve into a field of natural plantings which will require less maintenance an ultimate savings of taxpayers’ dollars. If you are in the vicinity of Guinea Lane and Greenridge Road on Saturday, April 21 and/or April 28, stop by and let the youth of our fine municipality know that you appreciate their effort. If you are interested in lending a hand send an email to the EAC at [email protected].
